Welcome to Kirkley Mill Lodge.

Kirkley Mill is a small holding based just outside of Ponteland village and around 15 minutes from Newcastle city centre in a peaceful and tranquil area of the Northumberland countryside.
We are home to 27 pygmy goats, along with 33 sheep some of which are rare breed Swish Valais Blacknose, plus a number of chickens and ducks just to add to the fun.
I am happy to finally be able to invite you guys to meet my crazy farm family and to experience the love and joy they bring.
I look forward to meeting you all very soon.
About Rachelle.

Hi all, my name is Rachelle I’m 34 and I was born into a farming family – so loving animals and the outdoors was pretty much inevitable. My farming journey began in 2018 with a handful of lambs in the back garden ( to the mild concern of anyone who visited), and during covid I started transforming Kirkley Mill into what it is today. Its still very much a work in progress, but then again, aren’t most good things? I started out with a small flock of Texel and Suffolk lambs before finally moving forward with my dream sheep breed, the Swiss Valais Blacknose. In 2021, I began with just 3 Valais and 5 Pygmy goats and since then the farm family – and the feed bill – has continued to grow. I have plenty of big ideas for the future and would love for you to follow along on the journey and enjoy the chaos, hard work and fun as much as I do.
Rachelle x
